What happened to me yesterday was horrible; do you want your sister, daughter, or wife to experience the same fate? It is not safe to send any of your daughters outside of Pakistan; I assure you that they are not safe here. You people understand that it is ridiculous to celebrate August 14th when girls are still unsafe in Pakistan.
“The three men tried to kidnap me and harassed me yesterday while I was waiting for my car near Ramada. It was raining, I had my phone and my bag, and I was waiting for my family. Those men grabbed me with a gun and dragged me to their car, but nobody heard me. I took personal responsibility for my safety when I shoved him and fled because he was armed and could have shot me. How can I claim that I am safe in this nation where I pay taxes when I stepped in front of a passing car? The family and Ramada staff saved me. I understand why people keep guards with them now; we need guards, which is probably why so many people are moving abroad. I am not safe here, and I can hire guards with that tax money. I can say that I am a proud Muslim, but am I also a proud Pakistani? We need protection in Pakistan. No!,” Nimra continued.
