Waris Baig Criticizes Wasim Akram & Coke Studio
Renowned for his vibrant performances and soulful voice, Waris Baig is one of Pakistan’s most melodious and talented vocalists. With a plethora of songs that have captured the hearts of millions of listeners worldwide, Waris Baig enjoyed a tremendous singing career. Karan Main Nazara, A Pyar Dil Mein Jaga, Kal Shab, Saathi Mere, and other songs are among his most well-known hits. Due to his numerous successful businesses, Waris Baig does not currently perform music.

Waris Baig recently appeared on the podcast Excuse Me, hosted by Ahmed Ali Butt. He discussed Wasim Akram, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, and the legitimacy of Coke Studio in the podcast.

In reference to Coke Studio, Waris Baig stated, “I haven’t received any offers from Coke Studio. I’m not sure why, but I believe that they didn’t think of me because I create original music and Coke Studio’s style is to remake classic songs. Coke Studio hasn’t released a song in a long time; Pasoori arrived after 15 years, and this year’s Coke Studio was a bust. All they have been doing is gathering vintage folk tunes and songs and covering them. It is now a comedy studio. As a vocalist, I haven’t intentionally performed any cover songs; instead, I have only performed one tribute, Jaan E Baharan, to great fan appreciation.
Waris Baig remarked, “What can we say, people hear him too,” in reference to making Chahat Fateh Ali Khan a celebrity. We have now seen a reel of Wasim Akram; it is concerning; he could create a music video for a song by Noor Jahan. He has made a reel about a bad singer. Such things are being promoted by you guys. It seems as though we are beginning to value an amateur bowler more than an experienced one, such as Wasim Akram, and we can see from his assurance that he has connected his name to Fateh Ali Khan by simply being Chahat.
