Gentleman Muhammad Ahsan’s Zulmi Talks About Humayun Saeed’s Charm
A wonderful newcomer to Pakistan’s television scene is Muhammad Ahsan. He works as an actor, director, writer, and host. Ahsan was involved with the digital platform Rava Entertainment, where he produced short films and documentaries in addition to hosting a number of interviews. Ahsan completed acting classes at NAPA in addition to his degree from ZABIST. He gained notoriety recently when he starred as one of Iqbal Munna’s right-hand men in the hit drama series Gentleman produced by Green Entertainment. With his portrayal of Gentleman, Ahsan has captivated audiences, and Zulmi is a beloved character.

Ahsan was recently featured on Rabia Mughni’s Fuchsia Magazine YouTube show. In the program, Ahsan talked about his difficult journey to get hired by Gentleman. Additionally, he discussed his collaborations with Humayun Saeed.

Ahsan said, “I was on set, pacing around and talking to myself about the prospect of acting alongside Humayun Saeed,” in reference to his first scene with Humayun Saeed. To be honest, I assumed that someone else would fill the role if he didn’t show up. But then Humayun Saeed and Ahmed Ali Butt showed up, and Humayun’s presence threw me off right away. I experienced a surge of unease and anxiety prior to sharing the stage with him. Upon calling me over, Humayun exclaimed, “Let’s do the scene!” His magnetic personality made me so nervous that I had trouble saying my lines. It took me a few stumbles before Humayun realized I needed assistance. He took over and read the lines, and his performance was so good that I wish we had captured it on camera. The way that Humayun Saeed portrayed Zulmi was so amazing that I couldn’t help but wish he could play the role again. He really got it.”
Speaking more about the particular scene, Ahsan stated that Humayun Saeed instructed him to convey happiness while narrating Iqbal Munna’s refusal to sit on the ground. Ahsan expressed his surprise at Humayun Saeed’s helpful and approachable demeanor.
“There was a scene with Ahmed Ali Butt in which we had to assure our loyalty with Iqbal Munna; it was my turn to perform,” Ahsan continued. I performed that scene really well and was very involved on the set. The following day, Humayun Saeed arrived and showed everyone the scene that Zulmi (Ahsan) had done so brilliantly. He watched that scene with me when he came over, but I wasn’t into it because I just wanted to tell Humayun Saeed, “I love you.” Who shows a novice this much love and gratitude? It was astonishing.
