Adnan Siddiqui & Humayun Saeed Discuss Professional Insecurities & MPTH Stardom
When Humayun Saeed and Adnan Siddiqui appear together in dramas, the two talented actors grab headlines. Ishq Junoon Deewangi, Mehndi, Mere Paas Tum Ho, and Gentleman are some of their popular dramas. Their song Mere Paas Tum Ho brought them immense fame and recognition on a global scale. Fans are currently adoring them in Green Entertainment’s popular serial Gentleman as Iqbal Munna & Rehmati.

Recently, the two actors discussed their professional insecurities and the success of their hit drama series Mere Paas Tum Ho on the podcast hosted by Fuchsia Magazine.

Humayun Saeed made light of his professional anxieties by jokingly stating, “Adnan used to grab the good roles quietly.” In response to his accusations, Adnan Siddiqui stated, “Having said that, I would say we never felt any insecurity or professional jealousy. If there are three production houses, I will grab the character of my choice from the one that is not Humayun’s production, but at Humayun’s production house I will be given what they have chosen for me. We never experienced animosity in our partnership. That was not how we ever thought.

According to Humayun Saeed, there was healthy competition. He also disclosed that when Adnan Siddiqui was offered the same role that Aijaz Aslam had also been pitched, Aijaz Aslam would file innocent complaints with Humayun Saeed. He added, “But even so, Adnan Siddiqui and Aijaz Aslam had a close friendship and never got into ugly arguments. We also had so much work that we never felt insecure. For example, in Mehndi, we had three characters, each of whom had a powerful role, but I chose the one who passed away. I accepted Javed Saab’s promise to play that character, but aside from that, nothing else happened. All we could do was ask to be given the character of our choosing. I want to act honorably now, but after a three-year break, I no longer feel insecure. Adnan Siddiqui added that he had no trouble obtaining characters. This is the video’s link:
According to Humayun Saeed, he creates dramas for the people, and his characters speak for Pakistani society. For example, Mere Paas Tum Ho, a drama that portrayed the middle class, is the biggest production in the country’s drama industry. The ratings that Mere Paas Tum Ho achieved were astounding and truly remarkable. There is nothing that can compare to the true stardom of MPTH. He went on to say that Mehwish wasn’t a bad person and that any woman in this kind of situation has the right to move on. If I were her, I would have let go and moved on. He went on to say that because Danish was not carrying out his wife’s wishes, he was not the right man. In the end, Humayun Saeed said he sympathized with the Danish. Adnan Siddiqui stood up for his portrayal of Shehwar. He said Shehwar was very transparent and revealed every detail about him. This is the video’s link:
