A popular figure on social media, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan is well-known for his entertaining singing. In 2024, he became extremely well-known thanks to his song “Bado Badi.” Within a week of its release, the song had received 27 million views. However, because of copyright concerns, YouTube removed the song. He is from Punjab, Pakistan, and goes by Rana Kashif.

In a recent appearance on Nadir Ali’s podcast, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan discussed the use of “Fateh Ali Khan” in his name.

Discussing the matter, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan mentioned, “In Faisalabad, a singer initiated legal action against me for taking advantage of the ‘Fateh Ali’ legacy.” His grievance expressed, ‘I am a minor vocalist, and I think he is exploiting Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s heritage. We, the residents of Faisalabad, feel pain because he is profiting from Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s legacy. He accused me of incorrectly asserting that I am related to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. I subsequently explained his grievance—I mentioned the name to honor Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan because I admire him. I have yet to encounter Chahat Fateh Ali Khan. They aren’t my family members. I simply have a deep admiration for Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Individuals name their offspring after Imran Khan, Allama Iqbal, and Quaid-e-Azam—it’s all rooted in affection.”
