In addition to being an activist, Sania Saeed is an actress. She has consistently advocated for justice and raised her voice against injustices that affect both humans and animals equally. Animal abuse cases have increased in Pakistan, and it’s common to see young children abusing animals on the roads. Speaking about this epidemic, Sania Saeed was a guest on Masarrat Misbah’s show.
According to Sania Saeed, parents have a responsibility to instill kindness in their children, and they can do so with ease by using animals. Although children can pick up on nonverbal cues from animals, she claimed that when they witness their parents treating animals with kindness as they grow up and care for them, they develop greater empathy.
She gave the following explanation:
Sania Saeed went on to discuss how we in Pakistan also treat children disrespectfully. We treat animals the same way we treat people—that is, without regard for their opinions or wishes. She expressed her belief that since people do not even treat their children with respect, it is unrealistic to expect them to have empathy for animals. She claimed that if we work for both children and animals at the same time, our society will improve.
